Interview
Marcus Beyer

In our Behind the Scenes section, we had the pleasure of interviewing Marcus Beyer, Security Awareness Officer and member of the Executive Board.
What do you do for a living?
I am the Security Awareness Officer at Swisscom and am responsible for the entire security awareness, sensitization and training program internally.
You joined the SISA Board on 1 September, taking over from Andreas Hölzli: What would you like to achieve together with SISA? Which of your skills complement the Board’s work?
Swisscom is a platinum member and thus supports SISA financially, but also through my work on the board and on the ibarry.ch advisory board with resources and ideas.
What do you want to achieve with SISA?
With SISA, its members and working groups such as ibarry.ch, the Abuse Working Group and Websecurity Day, we are making Switzerland the safest Internet country in the world. That sounds ambitious, but if everyone pulls together, we will achieve it.
When members meet you: What’s your favorite thing to talk about? What is your nerd topic (that doesn’t relate to your profession)?
That’s a difficult question. I’m passionate about my subject. But when it comes to family, Lego or FC St. Pauli and Hamburg – I’m there.
