We, the co-operation partners of the “Swiss Internet Security Alliance” (called “SIS” hereafter) take the protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly adhere to data protection rules. The explanation below will provide you with an overview of how we safeguard this protection. In particular, we would like to explain to you as a visitor to our website what type of data we collect, why we do so, how we use these data, and how you can decide over how your personal data are handled at any time.

II. Surfing on

The website hosting provider automatically and temporarily collects and stores information in its server log files which your browser leaves behind while you are surfing this site, and every time you retrieve a file. Your computer sends this type of information to any operator whose website you visit. Some examples for information stored and analysed are your Internet Protocol Address (IP address) connecting your computer to the Internet; and information about computer and connection to the Internet, such as browser type and version, plug-ins and operating system. In particular, the following details are stored about every access/retrieval:

Browser type/version, operating system used, IP address of computer accessing content, date and time of server request, page called up/name of file retrieved, data volume transferred, times accessed and number of downloads, report on whether access/retrieval was successful. Our pages do not employ cookies or any other technologies serving to track our users’ access behaviour. We do not collate the above data with other data sources. All IP addresses stored will also be deleted every month once they have been analysed for statistical and security-related reasons.

III. Your rights

You are entitled to enquire about the data stored about yourself, their origin and recipient, and the purpose of storing them, at any time. In addition, you are entitled to request the deletion or blocking of your data and their correction at any time. Please address your concerns to our Data Protection Officer via the contact form. You can also send us a letter.

IV. Transfer to third parties

Data collected by us are not sold. We only pass on the information we receive to third parties to the extent described below:

Associated organisations Associated organisations belonging to the SISA co-operation partners, as long as these are either subject to this data protection statement or follow regulations offering at least the same level of protection as this data protection statement. Protection of SISA and third parties We will disclose personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, or if such a transfer is necessary to protect our own rights and/or those of third parties. We are very happy to welcome you as our visitor to and its subsections (‘SISA web pages’ hereafter). The SISA web pages are jointly maintained by the co-operation partners of the «Swiss Internet Security Alliance» initiative (called ‘SISA’ hereafter). I. General The use of our SISA web pages will only be permissible in accordance with the following terms of use. By commencing to use our SISA web pages, users accept the validity of these terms of use in their applicable version at the time. Use of our SISA web pages is at users’ own risk.

Due to the nature of the Internet and computer systems, SISA does not accept any liability for the uninterrupted availability of our SISA web pages. SISA also reserves the right to wholly or partially cease or limit the operation or provision of our SISA web pages at any time and without further notice.

III. Use of content and information provided

All information made available by SISA on the SISA web pages were researched and compiled with the utmost care and to the best of our knowledge, and – as far as they originated from third parties – adopted as it stands. In this, we attached particular importance to the provision of correct and current information. However, errors can still occur. All users remain liable for checking the correctness, completeness and topicality of information provided themselves. SISA does not accept any liability for the topicality, correctness and completeness of information provided. In any case, any liability on the part of SISA due to incompleteness, lack of topicality or incorrectness of information, or liability for any potential consequences of a possible misinterpretation by users of the information provided, will be limited to cases of gross negligence and intent on the part of SISA. Within the scope of their use of our SISA web pages, users will also have to ensure that through their usage or actions in connection with this, they must not under any circumstances:

SISA accepts no liability for any damages incurred by users in consequence of any abuse of the information offered.

IV. Copyrights, trademarks, logos

The content and structure of our SISA web pages, in particular our logos, are protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. Unless stated otherwise, all information published on our SISA web pages (texts, images, graphics, sound, videos or animated files) will be freely accessible to users and are made available free of charge. Any user may use and document the information offered for his or her own information purposes (download). Any other kind of use or utilization of information, in particular duplication, change or incorporation into any publications or web pages of any kind, will only be permissible once advance permission by SISA or the respective owner of the information involved has been obtained. SISA would like to point out that further protection rights (in particular trademarks and the rights to a name) remain with the SISA co-operation partners without exception.

V. Hyperlinks and links to other websites

Our SISA web pages may contain links and/or other references to third party websites. When using certain links on our SISA web pages, you may be leaving our SISA web pages by doing so. SISA shall not guarantee the accuracy, correctness, reliability and completeness of information on websites referred to via links, and expressly disclaims liability for any errors or omissions contained therein, as SISA has no influence over the content and information linked to, and does not check them on a regular basis. Any hyperlink to another website is solely meant to provide help and does not imply that SISA approves of the website, products or services described therein, or deems them to be correct.

VI. Inserting links to SISA web pages

Users shall only be permitted to insert links to our SISA web pages (also in the shape of deep links) if this does not infringe any of the rights of the SISA co-operation partners or other companies controlled by them, in particular copyrights, ancillary copyrights or trademarks.

VII. Important notes on computer viruses, Trojans and other malware

Although SISA always endeavours to keep our SISA web pages free from malware, SISA does not provide any guarantees or accept any liability for our SISA web pages actually being free of malware. Before downloading any information, software and documentation, users shall ensure proper security measures are taken, in particular by using an appropriate virus scanner, not just for their own protection, but also to prevent any malware being introduced to our SISA web pages.

VIII. Data protection

When collecting, using and processing personal data from SISA web page users, SISA observes all applicable data protection regulations as well as the SISA data protection regulations which can be viewed on our SISA web pages.

SISA reserves the right to amend or update these terms of use and any other information contained in our SISA web pages at any time and without prior notice. This also applies to improvements or changes to the products, services or initiatives described on this website. Subsidiary agreements need to be in writing.

The place of jurisdiction is Zurich. Swiss Law excluding the UN Sales Convention applies.
